help need new tires

Well I went to the dealer today to
find out what they charge to ghange out and balance new frt. & rr. tires.

Plus they wanted $393.00 + shipping + taxs for both tires
100/90-19 frt. - 180/60-17 rr.(Pirelli Night Dragons)
I did find a place that will mount and balance for $32.00 each if they are
off the bike.

So how hard is it to remove the frt. & rr. wheels & tires and remount when
I get them back.

I just replaced the tires on my 99. Wasn't too bad, and I am a klutz. Half day job to remove them and another half to replace them after thay were mounted and balanced. The self help guides helped a lot.

Here is a tip on removing the rear tire, you will need a clear work space, general hand tools. a motorcyle jack to raise and support bike so wheel will clear the frame to take to local metric shop for carry in replacement, a manual or at least take good notes and pictures...

hit youtube with "change motorcycle tires" that will give you lots of interesting info. I changed my own tire and balanced it too. Worked real well. I think the factory doesn't balance them because there were no weights on my wheels before. I did have to invest in the jack but there is thousands of uses for that. So in the end I only paid 140 bucks for my tire, 75 for the jack and my local Discount Tire gave me the weights and new valve stem. I've been buying tires there for years.
