Is HD filter number 63797-77a a 5 micron or 10 micron filter? Is it correct for a 93 EVO? Thanks cscooter93

5 or 10 micron filter should NOT be used in an EVO engine, it is too restrictive...please look at this link...

As with most of the polls on oil filters, I believe you should use the one HD recommends for your engine, either black or chrome, but HD is by and away the most favored. Your owners manual or service manual specifies the proper one...you won't be sorry and $9.99 is not too much to ask for what it does, and a bargain!

Oops, Thanks Chopper, 63796-77A is 30 micron filter in CHROME and I feel silly that I did not remember my HD 2004 Sportster Service manual does NOT list the part number, and was one of those things I thought was really dumb when I got it. Naturally I wrote it down on my copy...and spare oil filters are on the shelf in the garage do not even think about it! :small3d007:

Thanks fellah's. Just wannted to make sure that the filter I just put on was the correct for the 93 motor. I have an HD manual for 91-92 Softails but not for 93's yet. cscooter
