Have some wiring question , new to this

Original wiring would have been with a single wire to each turn signal and the ground return would be through the frame where the unit bolted to the frame are you set up the same way or do you have a ground return wire and if so to where

Brian

I have the two fronts grounded to the front fork, the two rear ones run up and are dummied up (just twisted) to the load equilizer ground wire and then I grounded it on the battery.

I take it that the two feeds from the load equalizer are connected one to the left side turn signal wiring and one to the right side wiring

Wiring then seems to be suitable so about the only unknown is the flasher unit although the load equalizer could also be dead out of the box
However as the lights light up and the load equalizer gets hot we could assume they are good so next thing to try is the flasher unit

Okay, I will try the flasher unit next just have to wait for parts stores to be open as it is Sunday and tomorrow is memorial day. Yesterday I had just the rears hooked up, the left one would come on and stay on , but the right would not light up and the flasher would make an obnoxious springing noise. But the light would not light.

Got a horn wired in , need the blinkers and I can finally inspect this hog. Thanks for all the help I will be updating once I get a new flasher unit.

Still cannot post in the proper area, don't know why but thanks for the cooperation with me being a new member , much appreciated to everyone who has replied. Thank you Ethan
Will be updating within few days hopefully sooner.

Awesome, thank you. Really all fingers are being pointed towards that flasher unit. I mean it is 30 years old so hopefully a 3$ flasher will solve my problem.
Do local auto parts stores like napa carry such a product looked online and couldn't find it on there website page. Might be best off just ordering one.
Thanks again!

Does it matter what flasher I get? Or should I get the same one I pull out? I got a Wagner dot 323 12v that's in there now.

Different buying choices here in Scotland so I cant advise on where to go shopping most flasher units for a car will expect there to be a side repeater as well as front and rear and would flash too fast on a bike possibly although the load equalizer may compensate for that or it may be overloaded
Trying to get one from a Harley dealer may prove difficult so one of the online aftermarket specialists may be the best way to go
