I found this while looking for a new off road bike. My initial idea was to convert a XR1200 into an off road tourer by adding some higher suspension, and luggage racks.

Needless to say I was amazed when I came across this story and pictures.

I'm going to post the link to the site since I didn't made this content myself, it's really really worth the read & visit though..

My Dad and his brothers used to do some of the same stuff.

Maybe they shared the road a few times.
 
Great pictures and story. Men of iron riding bikes of steel!

And today some guys panic when they get a little bug jerky on their headlight. LOL

I love that Baja Sportster. I ran knobbys on my Ironhead and used it to cruise the wood roads up here for a couple of years, it was lots of fun.
