Handlebar risers

Looking at risers,some are for 1 in. and others for 1 1/4 in. diameter handlebars,yet they both claim to fit.Doesn't that make a difference? My bars are 1 1/4 in. from what I gather.So I'm disregarding the 1in. ones that they say will fit.

Maybe the "fit" is to the bike model. There are risers for 1" bars for your bike, and risers for 1 1/4" bars for your bike.??

yep,looking at J&P cycles.Diameter on some is 1 in.,others 1 1/4
