I have been running H-D Fantail Endcaps (NOT FISHTAIL) on my H-D touring Mufflers on my Roadkings for about ten years. The Fantail Endcaps have been discontinued from the catalog for a number of years now. The parts folk don't seem to know why?
I have had to replace about 5 or 6 of these endcaps because of splitting and cracking (made in taiwan). However this is my favorite endcap and I just put up with it....I was wondering if anyone on the site ever ran Fantail Endcaps and if so how well did yours hold up?
I don't think they really ever sold that well either, but I like the look of them. They are a throw back to a muffler that was put on Harleys from 1934-1940, according to the gent who has that big museum in Maggie Valley N.C.
