Get out and ride this Veterans Day

As a vet, I find that we are nearly invisible unless something happens, and as an example, I'm the ONLY vet in a 300 member church. I heard that we are merely 2% of the population, and if that's true, I can believe that from observation.
I WISH we had a vet ride here, but haven't heard of any- that said, I'm betting that there is a larger percentage of bikers that are vets than there are 4-wheelers.
Just ranting, I guess. I've usually had to work on v-day.

My employer has taken away veterans day as a holiday and replaced it with a vacation day. It was done to help with OT budgeting. Some departments work 24/7/365. With it not being a holiday, OT pay becomes a none factor.

In my department, 4 out of 40 of us are veterans. We do have plenty of veterans/support rides in my area. I'm also part of the organization that sponsors a traveling Vietnam Wall. We have a very big escort ride every year just before the veterans reunion.

Lots of Veterans here in NJ, especially in my circle of friends/family. Sorry to hear about the low numbers by you. You are well supported here, and NEVER forgotten.
Ride safe.

I have read that we are the 7% that served. Anyway, get out and put a flag on your scoot( if not there) and ride proud on Veterans Day. I take the day off because I earned it. :s Thank you all for your service.:42:

I'll be getting my riding in. Our PGR group has several venues we've been asked to participate in. So that will be 44 miles one direction and then heading out another direction 54 miles. Then if they don't slip another one in I'll be heading home from there which will be another 30 miles.

Feel free to use as appropriate.

I've been invited to walk in the Veterans Day Parade we have here or ride if I so desire(69-71). Early morning air to breathe and maybe a breakfast afterward. Sounds like the way to start the day for a great ride too! Thanks to all that serve, have served, and those that gave all! You just got to appreciate the FREEDOM!

We have a PGR mission tomorrow to escort a WWII vet. No better way to spend the day than to escort one of our own. God bless everyone.

I'm a Vietnam vet and retired "sorta work PT everyday " and never had this day off this year where I work part-time my boss came out Friday and told me to take the day off I deserve and earned it so I just might do that. Only suppose to be 31 so I doubt I get the bike out. Go eat some free meals. To all Veterans out there ,have a Happy and Safe Veterans Day.
