GEL or FOAM

Hi all
I am looking at a single seat for my FXDC.For a few extra bucks I can upgrade
too gel or memory foam.Since I have not tried either before just wondering
what would be the more comfortable of the two?

Just my opinion but If I we're to pick I'd go with the gel.

I had a Saddleman's gel seat and I hated it.
Never got comfortable and on colder days it stayed cold way too long

In my opinion, that's a tough question. There are many different brands and compositions of gel and memory foam. I have owned and sat on good and bad seats of both types. The worst thing I can think of about gel is that it will absorb a lot of heat and can be quite unpleasant for a while if you leave it parked in direct sun. Keep a towel over the seat and it's no problem. I have a gel pad on my Dyna, and a Mustang seat on my Electra. The Mustang is a bit more comfy for long rides.

I have a Serta I comfort bed, foam- gel and it is cold all the time, tho it is VERY comfortable, the foam can only crush down as far as the gel:s

Buy yourself a Mustang solo touring seat with a backrest and you'll be happy. Why mess around with gimmick seats like gel and memory foam? Geeze.
