I have a 2006 softail standard. This is my first Harley. I have noticed tha at high speeds I get a noticeable vibration. I have a windshield. Could this be what is causing the problem?

Another possible cause is tire/wheel balance. Does this vibration always begin at about the same speed? And if you continue to increase your speed does it go away (i.e., starts at about 55mph, and goes away at about 65mph and above). This is a fairly typical symptom of tire/wheel out-of-balance.

The tires are new. This could be the problem.

I have a '04 softail standard with shield....no vibratiion on mine. Must be your tires.
