Does anyone know if it is possible to put a 78 fxs frontend complete on a 93 fxd thanks in advance
Not only possible, but likely very easy. The neck bearings, cups and seals are the same part numbers. Maybe the brake lines have different fittings.
My 1950's rigid frame, has a narrow glide front on it. I didn't do it, so I don't know if it was a straight swap or not.
an alleged expert told me the two bikes had different rake .That is why i am asking .Do you know if that is true
Rake is usually determined by frame neck angle, but there are differences in various triple trees.
I don't know if there is a difference between FXS and FXD trees (triple clamps).
Pretty sure it's an easy swap.
Why would you do that? 35mm tubes replacing 39mm tubes? Not what I would call an upgrade.
