I have a 89 fxr & am going to need a new battery but there are so many don't know which. so what do you guys think would be the best battery for the best price

I have never had a problem with the HD battery. Make sure that it is fully charged before you install.

My Dyna uses the same battery as your FXR. I've had a DEKA ETX16 in it for 2 yrs. spins over faster than it ever did with any other brand. Deka is the house brand name of Harley OEM batteries. Less than $90 to your door from Batterymart or Bohannan Battery.

I agree with Breeze3at that a Deka battery will last longer, if properly maintained, than most others. You can find them at any Batteries + store. You can't go wrong with a Deka.

Yes they are and are marketed as Extreme-Magna IIRC but are made by Eastern Penn Mfg. The same company that produces the Deka and HD oem:s
