Stupid question but recently picked up a 08 Fat Bob and dont know any thing about if there is a security system. Is there a stock system or if it is optional how do you know if you have one?

I didnt get a fob but dont know if the orginial owner just attached it to the bike or if there is not one. There is no way to contact orginial owner. I have a had a lot of bikes but new to harleys.

If you did not get a FOB with the bike, I would say it did not come with the security system. For 2009, security was an option and the siren was an option on top of that.

You could always reference the part number on the TSM/TSSM to see if you have an alarm.

Thanks - had different people tell me it was an option and others said the system was standard. Was concerened that the orginial owner might have zip tied it and would be screwed when battery went dead. Appreciate the help,

What Glider suggests is the best way. That would tell you 'case closed' what you have in the bike because your right, someone could have zip tied it.
