Don't know if should be posted here. But changed out my ET sensor today and couldn't get my cover off that covers the fuses so disconnected battery, Allen bolts seem to be spinning. Are these nutted on back side ? I couldn't get my hand behind cover to feel any thing.

    Thanks,
    KP

You did not say what year bike it is but the chrome allens on my fuse cover are only decorative. The cover just pulls off without using any tools.

Many covers use a "knurled" bushing, threaded insert. Sounds like the plastic has given way and the insert is spinning free. Once you get it apart, you may have to reglue or expoxy the insert back in.:19:

The flip side is you can have a bike with no cover, like my Sportster between 2004 & 2009 where access is easy, but corrosion and service is a constant battle where you have to make one. :(
