Fuel Pump question

I've removed the tank for paint (argument with newly tarred & graveled road) & am having trouble disconnecting the fuel line from the fuel pump. I've depressed the lock tabs & tried removing the fuel line but it really doesn't want to come out. Is this normally a tight fit?

Do you think it would hurt to leave the fuel pump in the tank when I drop it off for the paint job?

They are a snug fit, it wouldn't hurt it to leave it in before you break the outlet trying to remove it.

That's what I'm thinking... probably have to buy the whole module.
