Better than puching the bike to the nearest station for gas IMO.:D

The light works on a resistance in the fuel level rheostat (sending unit). Check out the fuel gauge for accuracy and you may find that it's off as well.

As long as you know how much is left. As Glider said, what is your gauge showing when the light comes on?

Yes, that sounds about right, I think mine lites up at 1 gallon left, enough to get you to the next station.

It does seem like it should on at a lower tank level, but I have learned to adjust to it.

+1 on the bright sun on all my gauges, and also miss the reserve as well. :( But do love that gas gauge, my last bike was guesstimation at its finest! So this is a step up for me!:D
