Front End Banging when hitting bumps?

Had the same problem with the front tank mount bolt on both my 06 Wide Glide and the wife's 07 Street Bob. I would suggest anyone with a Dyna check the front tank mounting bolt.

here is a service bulletin worth reading:s

so thankful for this thread - was having a similar problem w/ a suspect noise goin over even small speedbumps/street imperfections. finally zeroed in on the gas tank loose at the bolt at the top of the tank. jumped on the forum, word searched to this thread, & relieved it was not an uncommon issue or fix. cheers to everyone else sharing their experiences. now, it's time to go tighten up that bolt.

A couple things come to mind
1. Neck bearings
2. The jiffy stand rubber bumper missing or out of adjustment
3. Motor mount bolts loose
4. Some loose or missing front breaks.
5. Not sure if this applies. Are the forks leaking fluid ?

I had the same problem last month and I phyically checked every nut and bolt on the front end. My problem turned out to be sheared motor mount bolts.
Just take your time and good luck finding that problem

Thought my front end was coming off, just the rubber bumper on the side stand. little bumps, lots of noise.
