I always thought that the dealer was the only one that could assign a FOB to a bike with the digital tech but there's a possibility that this will do it too...

FYI this is just for the earlier security systems that had the button fob. If you have the button fob, the assignment can also be found in your owner's manual. Well at least it is in my dad's 2002 FLSTSI owner's manual.
