FLSTS 99 sissy bar, quick remove available?

I just bougt a FLSTS 99.
My french dealer told me than for the sissy bar I need side plate kit ref HD 52786-84B.
These side plate are permanent and I want know if it's possible to install quick remove side plate for this model.....or if these one are only available for 2000 and later.

I have seen them in J&P, plan on around $200 US The plates are perm but the bar can be removed quickly.

i made mine quick release, and it looks better, and works better than the hd kit.. and did it for about 10 bucks..
