Jack and tank are right as to the location, butyour bike may not have had the spots from the factory, thus there may be no hole for the switch. have a look at a bike that is setup for the lights then go home tape off the spot and drill the correct size hole.
When I put the spots on my softail that is what I did, I also replaced the single throw switch with a marine 10 amp on/off/on switch, and wired it so in the down position it was wired "correctly" so that the spots go out when you activate the high beams. But in the up position the spots stay on with the high beams. Of course in the center position the spots are off.
