Well,mine is an 89 883 WITH an accelerator pump..the plot thickens...hmmmmm.. lol

The needle is the same for 883 and 1100 models: 420556 (1642639-001)

Don't think they changed the float needle from 1989 up to 2006: Needle Valve: 27886-78A when I checked in my 2006 Parts Manual.

Glad you guys got pike1612 taken care of, I just pull a 86 XL manual and it has a pumper on the carb also, don't know why I thought they didn't start putting them on XL's till 2000:small3d023: Maybe I better start taking Sundays off

Man, with all the F letter designations, displacement changes in that alphabet soup game HD has for model #'s is bad enough. But trying to find the little nuances within...hats off to you guys who have been at it for a long time. My measly 2 3/4 years of HD knowledge is not much for me, always learning something new every day on this forum, Finding out the years where that needle was the exact part number was tough. Glad he asked about 1989, as I see going back farther may mean finding out why the A was added at the end or worse, a new part number...yeesshh!
