I removed the ignition switch knob and the other related parts to remove the switch panel. In the process I turned the ignition off. Now when I put it back tigether I get no power to anything and the forks will not unlock. Is there some kind of alignment proceedure to correct this?

was the switch in the on position when you put it together? if not that may be your problem, good luck.

I fugured out what I was doing. When I put the knob with the shaft back in the switch, it was going past the switch socket. You can't let it bottom out. You have to find the 1st switch socket then go past it where the knob turns freely again then find the second switch socket and hold it there not letting it go down further or it will pass the second switch socket, if that makes sense to you.
