Fix for snaps on lowers?

Yep, the male part of the snaps on my 09 Ultra were plastic. I had to remove them to install the locking door frame.

I'm pretty sure they're plastic...doesn't feel like metal to me. I'm going to try the vaseline/3-in-1 oil ideas but I will not spend $200 on locking doors. If I get real tired of them I'll rip them out and drop in more speakers. Thanks for all the help.

You can get stainless snaps at a boating supply store to replace the plastic garbage.

That's what I was originally going to do. Pop rivet through the snap and a washer on the other side and you're done!
