First oil leak!

I had the same problem with my 99 tranny oil was traveling up from inside of clutch cable.

Sounds reasonable, The cable passes right over the area. I am not getting a lot of oil, just a few drips after each ride. It doesn't continuously drip.

What did you do to correct your problem?
 
After making sure the end that screws into the transmission was tight and no O ring damage, I ended up replacing my clutch cable. Fortunately it was covered by the extended warranty, so my cost was $50.
 
Leak is fixed!

It was the stator plug after all. Oil was wicking inside the wires to the right side of the bike and leaking fron the electrical connector.

I learned something here, I didn't think it would be possible for that to happen.
