First major road trip

First long distance ride on a machine new to you is exciting and fun. The key to not have "drama" is good preparation, take your time and stay hydrated and keep within the daylight hours this time. As you get more long distance rides under your belt, riding in dusk in morning or towards early evening is good to "warm up" to.

Well, I'm back. I rode 1k miles R/T to El Paso and back to AZ via high country of NM. My first day I rode 10 hours. I detoured to my hometown and picked up a "compadre". We stayed off the I-10 by riding interesting frontage roads. What a great weekend! I didn't want to get off the bike.

I only had one minor problem w/ the bike. The oil pipe from the crank case area to just below the push rod developed a leak. It turns out it must have loosened after running semi fast for 60 miles. We tightened it up and it never gave me problems again.

I'm hooked...:D

P.S. I didn't take pics. I was on a high and spaced it out.
