Feeling Really Stupid

I noticed about a month ago that the reflector in my tail/brake light lens had warped a bit inside the tag window. Yesterday I was installing frenched trim rings on the turn signals and thought I'd change bulbs while I had them open. I tried the turn signals, OK. Tried the brakes. No brake lights. Then after getting out the manual and checking wiring and the added turn/break light module it hit me. It wasn't that the brake lights didn't work. They were stuck on! Hence the melting lens. Duh! But that's not why I feel stupid. I noticed the melting lens a month ago! I haven't had brake lights for longer than that. I try to remember to check this stuff but I obviously haven't been doing a very good job.

Better late than never,
your safe, problem will be fixed, ride on and enjoy

and thanks for reminding the rest of us!!!!!!

Checking lights should be a routine that is done regularly. It is one of the important defenses we have while riding. May we learn from your experience and be more vigilant in checking our lights.

We must a ll remember T-Clock
Tires
Controls
Lights
Oil
Chasis
Kickstand

One of the most important things that i learned in my MSF BRC
