From what I've read there seems to be quite a following for the Fat Bob...evidently handling is improved by the style handle bars and large front tire. My friend is trying to sell me on the SoftTail Fat Boy. Saying the engine is a B and better than A engines. But from I read the balancing of this engine only lessens vibration to the rider and does nothing to benefit the engine.

I'm trying to understand if the SoftTail line is really better than the Dyna line.

    Thanks!

Depends on what kind of riding you will be doing and riding style.

The difference between the "A" and "B" motors is that the "B" motor has counter balance in on the motor to lessen vibration. The "A" motor does not therefore has rubber mounted motor mounts. "B" motors have a bit less torque than "A" due to counter balance spinning in motor.
