Fairing mounted oil temp gauge

Just installed gauge shows 110 deg on startup is this the lowest level it will show

Sounds about right. The gauge is probably not graduated below the 110* mark. It may even have a stop preventing the needle from falling below that point. You will not see movement unti the oil in the tank or wherever the sending unit is increases above that point.
