Fairing Boss Repair

There's a repair kit available from the dealer and some use an epoxy to repair the fastener like JB weld.

I was talking to a guy that had his saddlebag repaired after a tip over. A big piece broke out. He had a auto body shop do it. It seems there is/are special products and techniques to repair injection molded plastics. Maybe a google search will turn something up, or stop by a body shop and ask.
 
I think TQuinten striped out his and just drilled through the fairing. He had some picutres posted showingthe finished change.
 
I had to drill through the two outters on mine. The moulding on mine had split and I couldn't keep the brass nut in there. I had tried the Harley repair nuts that you thread in but no luck. I used 1/4" stainless buttonhead cap bolts with stainless acorn nuts. Works perfect for me.
