Facts about adding slip ons

I have 2009 Street Gluide; I am looking to upgrade to Rinehard or V&H slip ons. Can someone lay out the facts on what is truly involved. What changes are necessary when just adding the slip ons?

Do I need to spend the money for the down load after installing slipons?
At what stage is the tune module needed?
Can I install the slip ons myself; and then have the dealer do the down load (if necessary)?

No reason you can't install them yourself and for a better running engine, adding fuel will help. Running on the factory fuel map is cutting it close.

Glider is correct JUST slip-ons it will be close...Slip-ons and an Air Cleaner will put you seiously lean condition and you do not want to be there.
all harleyts are a little lean from the factory to satisfy the epa. this is fact seen it on the dyno many times.
if you are looking for a tuneing device look at the tts master tune. there is a shop in pa that is having a sale on them.
