Does anyone know of a procedure to core out the factory mufflers on a 2009 Sportster?

Don't do it, save them for when the EPA police come around. Besides they don't sound good either and will kill the performance. Buy a set of cycle shack slip ons and be done with it the right way.

Booked an M.o.t. for sportster for monday was warned by the garage owner/tester to make sure that it wasnt loud as the inspectors were watching him
although my sportster was loud when i bought it and has past for the last 3 tests at the same garage id anticipated this and sourced a stock set of silencers from ebay some 3 years ago
hope they fit ill find out tomorrow
thats the current situation in uk but the world is getting smaller by the week so keep the stock silencers they may be needed soon

Keep those OEM mufflers original as takeoffs and find a good set of HD Screaming Eagle ones you like (louder but should still meet EPA, Fed, State & Local mandates). Only takes a few minutes to put them back on if your aftermarket ones do not meet sound/emissions ordinances. :(
