I’m having to replace the clutch on my 1996 Road King due to a damaged Spring Plate that is in the middle of the friction and steel plates. I’ve read about Extra Plate kits that you can buy (e.g. Barnett’s Extra Plate Kit) that eliminate the Spring Plate with an additional friction plate and two additional steel plates which is supposed to provide more of a percentage of friction area. My question is has anyone every replaced the OEM clutch and spring plate with one of these extra plate kits and what kind of results, good or bad, did you have. Thanks for any help!
