my factory warranty ends in april 2011 is it to late to buy an extened warranty

No. You can purchase the extended warranty up till your factory warranty expires.

just be sure it is an h-d warranty. some dealers sell something that is accepted nowhere except at that dealership. get the real thing.

as Redfish said, you can extend it up untill your original runs out. It cost more to buy it, than it would have if you extended it the day you picked it up.
I am waiting untill the end to extend mine, so i can use the extra $ to buy more goodies

If you bought the bike new from dealer, H.D. will send you a reminder, with about 1 month to go and see selling dealer before warrty runs out.
