Exhaust smell?

Ever since I put the TFI on and a SE 1 air intake, some times when I am coming to a stop I get some exhaust smell that comes up, I have never had that before. what can be causing this?

Did you not put exhaust on also?? You are probably smelling the left over combustion at shut down coming up through air cleaner or the hot oil in air filter..

The engine isn't running as lean as it was before. Nothing to worry about.

I have the stock pipes on, I did not like the new ones I put on.

I noticed the same smell when I installed my TFI. After riding it awhile and tweeking it a little, the smell lessened.

More fuel and air, you may smell a bit more check your settings again check your oil for heavy gas smell, you should be OK IMO:s

No gas smell in the oil.

Back off a bit on the fuel and ride it again:s Better to add fuel than take away IMO = more cooling

You actally should have a little smell because richer than stoich means just that.. an abundance of hydrocarbons in relation to O2 molecules. That is the reason you installed the TFI to start with.

You are smelling the "left over" molecules of the hydrocarbon side of the reaction.. As long as you don't SEE a rich mixture, a little smell is good.
