exhaust removal

2006 ultra trying to get exhaust off to get to lower swing arm cap bolt.
Want to install a stabilizer and not enough clearance from bolt head to pipe to get bolt out.

Left side removed and rear exhaust loose but won't slide out of front pipe. Is it easier to take the front off at the head and remove as one piece rather than trying to seperate?

Any ideas will be considered, Thanks

I would remove it at the head, you really don't want to snap a stud trying to separate the pipes if they are stuck that bad.

Thanks, I tried the self help first and didn't see what I needed.

The chrome exhaust pipe cover at the y intersection was really sooty on the back side when I removed it. I have been smelling exhaust fumes when I travel into the wind ever since I have owned the bike. Dealer has looked at it twice with no cure for the problem. I think I need to inspect the pipe for a crack or failed weld.

They have a habit of cracking at the edge of the weld at the "Y" in that pipe behind the rear cylinder. Don't even bother to re weld it, they crack again, just replace the pipe. The replacement is usually under $200
