I have a starting issue on my 99 also but mine deals with the starter. When I try to start my bike it will start but the starter drags badly . I put a new battery in it and new cables made sure the grounds were all good and the connections were secure but it still drags. I am thinking the starter needs rebuilt . Does anyone know if harley offers a rebuild kit ? ... part number?... The nearest dealer is about 2 hrs away and I don't like to deal with them unless I have too .They are JERKS and get it wrong most of the time anyway. If I can go in informed maybe I can keep them from screwing up. Thanks in advance
