evo push rods

Hi everyone
I am putting a evo back together and cant remember which way the push rods were in the engine...does the colorbands go down or up..I have them in the right place but the color end of the ball is only partially shiney and the other end if polished like chrome...I believe the partial shiney end goes in the lifter.... what do yall think...

The shiniest end is the one that was on the rocker arms. The angle changes, so it gets polished more. The lifter end stays at a pretty constant angle. Remember to tighten the rocker arms down SLOWLY to let the lifters bleed off.
