Engine light stays on for 5 min

My 1999 Dyna twin cam has had the engine light come on and stay on for about 5 minutes, how do I troubleshoot this ? I don't have a manual for the bike.

First off, buy the manual, it's the best investment you can make.

The 99 was the earlier TC engines that were involved in the cross over to delphi injection so you probably have the Morelli injection.

Try the first link and for some reason it doesn't ework, try the second one.

Forgot all about the carbs and FI introductions. That was a very confused era.

The codes should work on the ICM (carbed models) also.

When you say "engine light" you mean that and NOT the oil light, right?

Yes, it's the engine light in the speedo,,, the bike runs fine and all fluids are good.

Good, just checkin. So it should mean that the system is setting a code. Check out what Glider provided and see what that is.
