Engine light on

I get 01 thru 10 clr then I get ppu 84172 does anyone no what this means? I have a 2001 wide glide

No error codes. If there was a code, you would see "set" instead of "clr"

What code? You have no codes. 1 to 10 were clr. Did you see a "set", if not your OK.
ppu 84172 is not a DTC. It is the microcontroller ID.

ok thanks thats good But why does the engine light stay on .It go off down the road but comes back on then off then on. and no I didnt see a set

This may not have anything to do with your problem but check your spark plug wires and make sure they clip on tight to the plug. Could be just loose enough to cause a slight miss fire.

Does your 2001 Dyna have any earlier year parts in it such as a 2000 speedo or TSSM? I have all 3 service manuals for the 2001 Dyna series (99481-01A,,99495-01,,99483-01SP), and some of what you said does not make sense.

According to the books, your codes should actually be determined by looking at flashing lights in a series string. Do you have factory security (TSSM). This bike is carb correct.

Check to c if the primary oil smells i think your stator is going bad.
If it is change stator and regulator , i like cycle electronics they r made in the usa. I hope this helps.

You have an intermittent problem. Check for a code...
