Engine Idle Temperature Management System Service Bulletin

When you roll the throttle forward for a few seconds and the cruise indicator turns green, that simply means that the EITMS is "armed." It won't actually shut off the rear cylinder until the engine reaches a certain temperature and is at idle. Until those conditions are met, the EITMS is armed but not engaged. At least that is my understanding.


Ah, ok that makes sense. I thought I was able to manually do that. It works fine then. Thanks for the info.
 
What about earlier models like the 2005 FLHT? Is there any documation on the EITMS for these models? I have an 05 EGS. I would be very interested in finding out how EITMS works for that year and model.
