1988 Heritage Softail, went to start it, turned over a couple times then no power, no lights etc. checked the battery have 12 volts, checked the switch, have voltage at the switch when I turn the switch on the meter shows 0 volts, turn it off and I get 12 volts. Thinking it’s the switch, I disconnected the wires and I ran a continuity check it passed. What to check now?

How old is the battery? make sure all battery connections are clean and tight. Also a load test on the battery would be a good starting point.

Have you checked for a blown fuse? is your battery fully charged? do you use a battery tender to keep it charged? You may want to diagnose the charging system, how to diagnose system is in the self help section.http://www.hdtimeline.com/archive/t-741.html
