Is a ECU and a ECM one in the same? One company is calling it a ECU, but all i can find in the wiring is a ECM.

Yes. Short for "Electronic Control Module" or "Electronic Control Unit".

What are you trying to do?

Be very careful messing with the wiring of the ECM. If you make a mistake and fry the ECM, you will be in for a wad to fix that problem.
