Driving lights blow fuse

Okay....have lights completely out, put everything back together...ran bike with headlight and driving light switch on. everything good as far as wiring. going to get new bulbs and hope that's the problem. :dknow They are the original 01 bulbs, so I'll try new ones (would probably need to replace them soon anyway).

If the wiring is all stock, you have checked all the wiring for chafing and pinching (especially where the wiring passes thru metal (lamp metal shells, handlebar controls and metal frame hold down clips comes to mind) and look for evidence of corrosion along the way, (water or battery acid etc.), checking & cleaning the bulb sockets and wiring harness connections good w/ Brakecleen/contact cleaner and coat with dielectric grease when reassembling, finally, changing the lamps may do it...I have had a filament of a bulb partially break off weld itself to ground intermittantly blowing the downstream fuse, and only evidence was it glowed brighter than the other turnsignal light. Kinda makes sense of Murphy's Law... :newsmile098:
