Drive belt adjust?

Hi, I am new here so I hope I am posting this correctly, I had the rear wheel off my '00 XL1200, how do I adjust the drive belt to the proper tension and make sure the wheel is true in the frame? I expected to see reference marks on the swingarm but didnt. There must be a simple solution, thanx.

There should be a small hole on each side of the swingarm. bend a coat hanger into an L and us an "o" as a slide marker to check the center hole in the axle. You should invest in the manuel for your bike. I believe the short spacer goes on the caliper side and the long spacer goes on the pully side.

Wow, that was fast, thank you. I was pretty sure I had the spacers right but wanted to verify. Yeah, you're right about the manual, I better order one.
