Drilling and tapping top triple tree?

I want to move my speedo on my 09 Fxd off the top of my risers and was thinkin off moving it to the top triple tree just in front of the risers but worried that drilling and taping two holes (I am thinkin 1/4") in it might weakin the strength of the tripple tree. I hate for it to crack as I am headed down the road and have one or both off my risers come loose?:small3d031:. Anybody got any advice or any other Ideas on where to put that speedo?

You could change the console to a different type like one member did here and mount it there.

Jdeatsch had done it to his and he even posted some pics of it close up but now that I am gettin around to doin it the pics are Xed out. and dosnt look like he has been around to much.
