Doesn't shift right.

When I try to shift thru the gears it's like it gets lost between them. It happens thru all the gears also. Any ideas?

Are you saying that you have false neutrals between gears or that it fails to enguage the next gear?

it doesnt enguage in the next gear going both ways up and down

i can tell you from my sportster days you had to shift it like you meant it the times i wore tenis shoes (i know i know) and eased the shifter i had the same feeling you described try shifting with a little more force before you go tearing into your transmision

Along with the above, be sure clutch adjusted properly and how long has it been since trans fluid changed?????
