does any one know what ppu 78367 stands for?

that is what comes up when i check my codes on my 2003 883 d01 through d10 are clear then this comes up.ppu 78367..
my problem i am having is the bike will randomly die..no spark...short rides long rides sometimes i can go days without a problem...

does it stand for pulses pick up?

My guess would be it either stands for the Speedometer application calibration number or the speedo itself. (short part number maybe)

I am sure it does not stand for pulses pick up. Firmware diags are not that smart. I don't have a service manual for a 2003 but for starters I would look at whatever triggers the coil. Either a hall cam sensor or reluctance crank sensor. Something along those lines.

You did not give much info except that the bike dies. Your problem can be caused by a few unrelated items other than ignition. (breakers, ignition switch etc)
