dim headlight

I have a 2004 roadking and i have noticed the headlight getting dim and then bright while i am rideing down the road, are there any suggestions on what i should check? the battery is less than six month old. any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you are experiencing could be a number of things. Usually the battery is the cause but the output of the stator or the regulator could be the problem too.

Check the output of the charging system and go from there.

After Gliders suggestion on checking the charging system I would check the grounds, typically when the head light flares up and down in brightness it is a spike in voltage can also be a bad ground:s
