Difference in cams

After reading your original post, I tired searching for the answer. Before I got discouraged and quit, I saw that one of the numbers was a 255 cam and the other was a 255 with a 4° advance. ? :bigsmiley25:

I could be wrong but I thought the 4 degree advance was achieved with a sprocket that replaced the OEM part.

I have the sprocket in question here..

One way it is -4* and turning it around +4*

Again use the calculator from Big Boyz :

I will put this gear INTO my bike and change out my timing from intake close at 25* to 29* ...

This gear @ -4* will place the SE255 cams at 29* from 25* intake close and will MIMIC the 48 cam. (less compression from 25* to 29* but longer out on RPM range)..

Then I'll probably go 103 with it that way in the near future...

I was going to Only install the -4* engine shaft, cam drive gear when I went 103" with some head work but I am curious to what the 48 cam would do to my bike and That -4* gear will get the specks Close to that 48 Cam.(Mimic)
