Will the slide inside a cv carb still go up if there is a small hole in the diaphragm? What are the symptoms of a bad diaphragm?

As Tbones said and the only way to repair is to replace with a new one it comes as part of the carb slide be careful when fitting that the ridge on the edge of the diaphragm sits correctly in its recess when the carb top is fitted

Brian is absolutly correct here. Pinched mine once putting it in (no hole). Bike was sluggish and would not go over 70mph.
