Deuce taillight "pops" out

Hey everyone,
I am having an issue of my deuce tail light popping out while riding. It is a pop in type tail light with a rubber lip around the bottom which is supposed to hold it in place. Once I got home and it was just hanging there by wires, which of course put some nice scratches in my rear fender. any pointers on how to keep it in there? some way to thicken up the rubber part so it is a more secure fit?

The lower edge has a lip, but there should be a screw at the top that holds a fitting. I would try taking off the tail light lens. You ought to see a screw. Loosen that up, then slide the assembly into place so the lower lip seats in the fender fully. Then install the screw and keeper at the top.

This is just a guess, but I bet someone had it apart to change a bulb and didn't get it back in properly. It shouldn't just start popping out mysteriouslly
